With over 2,800 reported COVID-19 cases in Bulloch County, residents of all ages are having to change their daily routines and adapt to new ways of living.
Since the pandemic hit its peak in mid-March, many things have changed in our day-to-day lives. 16,000 restaurants and nearly 73,000 businesses have closed permanently across America.
Meghan Cibak, a current Exercise Science major attending Georgia Southern University and resident of Bulloch County, has changed her daily routine completely since the pandemic started.
“I haven’t eaten out in almost 6 months,” said Cibak. “I cook every meal, I don’t go out anymore with my friends or anyone really, I just mostly stay inside my house other than my weekly grocery trip.”
Bulloch County has reported 27 total deaths and 131 hospitalizations due to the virus and the number continue to rise. There is so much uncertainty regarding the new virus and it is causing people to adapt to a new lifestyle.
Cibak is originally from Pittsburgh and since moving to Statesboro, she hasn’t been allowed to visit her family because her and her family fear that they could spread the virus without knowing it.
The outgoing college student she once was now spends most of her time in her room trying out new makeup, reading books, or playing with her dog.
